REVIEW: Isabeau
is a witch from another century and instead of escaping Lobster Cove and being
burned at the stake. She is trapped in Lobster Cove but just jumps through time
when she tries to leave Lobster Cove. Fortunately for her she meets a great guy
named Stan Wright. He is always there for her when she turns up in different
times. She actually sees the guy grow to a young man. Now however he has passed
away and his nephew Grayson has come to see about his uncle’s affairs including
the house and the shop Isabeau rents out.
Grayson is skeptical about
Isabeau and with the help of a family friend, Sherri he thinks Isabeau has
taken advantage of his uncle and he wants to find out the truth. Grayson moves in to the house
where Isabeau has an apartment and slowly gets to know his uncle and Isabeau. He finds himself thinking about
her and wanting her. Isabeau is trying to keep Grayson from finding out she is
a witch so she offers to help him clean out the attic.
In this process they start to
fall for each other. Isabeau hasn’t had any male companionship in many years
and is afraid to let her guard down but sharing living space as well as a
bathroom can be a little tricky.
When Sherri goes into premature
labor, Isabeau tries to help and Sherri won’t have any of it. She calls the
ambulance and goes to the hospital where the husband and Grayson have showed
up. Grayson is torn between his heart and his brain telling him to believe in
Isabeau.
He goes to chase after her and
she disappears before his eyes. He finally starts to believe the rantings of
his uncle and knows he loves Isabeau and has to get her back. He searches for the book where is
uncle kept all the spells and he has Sherri help him perform the spell. He
hopes it isn’t the last time he sees Isabeau. After Sherri recites the chant
she is exhausted and needs rest. Grayson doesn’t know if it worked so he waits
to find out. Read on to see if Grayson and Isabeau get their happy ending.
I really enjoyed this book. I am
usually not one for the time travel but it wasn’t the focus of the book and it
had to be shown at times to keep the story moving along. I like how Isabeau is
a witch but she is a good witch and sometimes it is hard for people to
understand there is always good and bad in everything. I also liked Grayson
being so concerned about his uncle being taken advantage of but also how he had
a huge heart and wanted to believe in Isabeau and the love he felt for her.
I would recommend this book.
